Hello. I am Nichole, 28 years old and living in Athol, but moving up to Blanchard soon. I have 6 horses, 3 of which are broke, lol. My girls are 8 and 6 and love to ride with me. If anyone is interested, we also have the GREATEST pony on the planet and he is very happy to let newbies ride him. I love sharing him with kids who are riding the first time, he gives them such a positive experience! We are a part of the local playday group up here, but have been busy starting to get ready to move. Looking forward to getting to know folks in the general area, we want to have more horse-friends!

Hi, welcome! I have a 7 year old who had a bad experience with a pony last year - - she has gotten back on in an arena and been OK but would love to find some horsey kids for her to hang out with. We're all the way in Spokane, but maybe sometime in the summer we can get up there. I would love to go to Priest Lake too. Perhaps if we go camping nearby...

I looked at some of you other posts and it looks like you might know Lea! Shes the neatest lady. I love reading her blog too, following along with the horses.

Here are some pics of my horses.. Peppy, coming 6 yr old Paint. She has amazing bloodlines but was never registered and it doesnt matter. I have had her since she was about 6 months old. She loves to injure herself and has no extensor tendons in her right front. Many vets have recommended that I put her down after certain injuries, but with much hard work and a lot of faith in her desire to live, she is not only NOT a cripple, but she is also sound to ride. The Pony, Sequoia, with my daughter. She won reserve high point on this guy last summer, and she had only ridden him a few times before starting to compete. He is an angel, and we take him to lessons to let the very young kids ride him. Brandy, the slaughter-lot rescue. She has a long history of abuse and mistreatment as is proved by her scars, but she is a grand little mare with a big ol heart. The babies, 2009 1/2 morgan fillies. I got to watch them both take their first steps and imprint them both. They are little nosy buggers and will be really excellent mares as they mature. I do have one other 3 year old appy mare. She was a semi-rescue and we are still working on getting her healthy. She was neglected and allowed to pretty much fend for herself. She cribs badly, gets bleeding ulcers and has a very sensitive stomach. She has choked and coliced on me more times than I care to think about, as well as going off her feed, getting pneumonia and deciding that she will just stand there are crib rather than eat. We finally have her ulcers under control, I think, and she is cribbing less, but her weight is still a battle. I wont post a body pic until she looks better, But she does have this neat marking on her side and a very cute face! So thats the horse-family. We also have 4 dogs, 3 cats, a rabbit and a gecko.

Nichole,
Didn't you have a cremello gelding with some health issues? What happened with him?

Yup, that was me. After treating him for severe COPD over the winter as well as doctoring his eye and making sure he got his sight back, I managed to find him a new home up by the border that had hundreds of acres of grass pasture to let him out on. There was just no way I could keep him healthy with my drylots and his severe copd. I miss him so much. I loved that horse like crazy.

Welcome! Love your pictures! I have a 9 year old daughter, and we've been looking for other kids around her age to ride with. She had a little scare last year and is slowly getting her courage back. The scare wasn't her getting hurt, but she saw once of the older girls , take a nasty fall going off a jump and break her arm. My daughter's mare is a sweetheart. She's a 16 year old pinto and just a dream for trail riding. We live in Spokane, but we have a trailer. I'm hoping to get my daughter out more this year for trail riding and maybe some gymnkana's or other fun stuff to help build her confidence.

Katie right? Sequoia is a doll. We love him so very much! He is fat and happy and runs the place. He is patient and loving and hauls my kids around and everyone elses kids. He is so gentle and honest, we just love him! We have been working with the vet. At first we thought he had cushings, but we now have concluded that he is insulin resistant, just a part of his age. Vet puts him at 28 years old! Maybe we can get together and ride sometime, or maybe you can come visit him?

No, he doesnt act his age at ALL. Vet said she would have thought he was in his teens if it werent for his teeth. Im getting ready to seperate him now as the rest of the horses are going on alfalfa, but he cant have it. He stays fat and chubby on 2 flakes of grass hay a day! Wish all older guys were as easy as him! Begging my hubby for a kiss in the mud I know, she doesnt have her helmet on, I had just taken it off as she got a bee in it. She was only like that for a couple seconds. This was after a bareback class at the playday. She won it
