Hi all! My family lives in N. Spokane. We love arabians, have 5 purebreds and 2 half arabs. So so smart, we very much enjoy training them. We love this area of the US too--love the climate and the landscapes. Thanks!! Looking forward to meeting all of you EBA

Hello! Welcome to the forum. I love this area too - moved here 5 years ago - especially when the winters are like this last one!

I like to trail ride and do some showing. I've taken up a new discipline last year and am learning dressage. My favorite is still trail riding, but I haven't had a chance to do much of that around here yet. We moved here about 5 years ago, and I've just recently bought a new trail horse. She older and out of shape, but a been there done that mare. She great for trail riding and she's been perfect for my daughter to ride and I hoping she'll do some shows with her this year.

I have not done any showing, thought about it but haven't done it. We do quite a bit of trail riding, when we aren't training. SPWH you are probably not far from us at all--we're in mead, so right in that area. I love winter, and personally I'd rather have 3 ft of snow than the 3ft of mud we had! At least snow we can still enjoy--doesn't keep us from working! 20xsweetcowgirl I believe we met sunday at Riverside--what a nice day that was!! We'll definitely have to do that again Thanks everyone, see you all around!! EBA

I agree with what you said about snow versus mud. I would rather have had snow, too.

Well I was going to open a new topic to introduce myself, but as I’m with elbayangel, I’ll just post in her topic. My horse, Mindy. National Show Horse. Our newest Horse, Dakota. Was a Birthday gift for our Mom. What a surprise when he showed up! He's a Pintabian. Sierra, half Arab, half quarter. El Bey Angel (Angel), you saw her at the trail ride. Ranger, Handyman's horse. He was at the trail ride. Caramel, our rescue horse. Last sunday was her first long trailer ride since we got her, and I suspect she wasn't trailered much before. She was so nervous she never calmed down during the ride on Sunday. This week we’re working on getting her used to riding in the trailer. She'll load herself into the trailer when told to (without halter or lead), but just can't stand being tied up in there. Weird, huh?

I live right off HWY 395, west of Monroe. We have a small setup, but it works for now. We haven't done alot of trail riding in the Spokane area. In the summer, we go up to Chewelah, where some friends of ours have tons of trails, and kids my daughter age. I would love to start doing more trail riding arounds here. I'm trying to figure out to post some pictures, but it's not working for me. I'll figure it out shortly.

Beaut-tee-fulll! I'm an Arabian lover too. I have a 22-year-old CMK bred gelding who is my *heart horse.*
I also have a 5-year-old quarter horse that I've raised from a weanling -- he's pretty sweet too.
Hope to meet you sometime!

Look over in the "Who Wants to Ride" forum (if you haven't already). We’re going riding at Riverside this Sunday if you want to join us. We’d also love to go up to either Mt. Spokane or the Chewelah area this Spring... soon. Probably both.

Were originally thinking of going to Riverside, but we have some friends that live north of Spokane that want to ride at the trails in Deer Park. I'll try to get an exact location later.

OK so we are headed to a friend's house in Deer Park, and we'll be riding at the missile site--it is cross country trails in the winter, so pretty easy ride, and not rocky. It is located at the end of N. Missile site Rd, in deer park. Let us know who is coming and I'll see if my friend is interested in having extra company--or we will meet you on the trails!

Awesome! -- We’ve been riding in Deer Park, by the Deer Park airport. It's about 15-20 minutes from where you are. We're riding there tomorrow, if you'd like to join us, let me know. You can add me on Facebook as well: facebook.com/highwayoflifeIf you can’t make it tomorrow, just keep in touch, we’ve been riding about every week.

Hello. My name is Carrie and I am from the Springdale area. We own and operate The Shepherd's Way Animal Rescue. I am new to this forum and if I goof up, let me know, because I am sooo tech-tarded and don't know how to do this computer stuff.
We have a variety of horses here and are down from 67 horses to 27. Our goal is to get down to 15 horses, which is managable.
I live with my husband, Allen and our Equine Manager, Shawda.
I am an auther of the book Angels in Horsehair and do many fundraisers across the country to help support the rescue.
We love to ride and love the smell of a horse.
