We bought an older mustang mare for my daughter today. My daughter just loves her & didn't want to quit riding. Normally she's not really into it. Her name is Gypsy and they thought she might be half Paso Fino but she sure looks like a mustang to me. Not branded, so who knows. She's beautiful! Makes all my redheaded horses look kinda plain and washed out. She's been a pack and trail horse for a long time. She's awesome, unflappable, as long as she has a buddy. She's a bit buddy sour. Mainly I just want her to keep my kid with the rest of us, so I'm not worried a whole lot about that, but we will work on it.

She is cute, I like her short little black stockings. What a feeling it is to have a horse your child can have fun on with you.

Thanks! I sure like her. One small (or maybe big) problem - my geldings HATE her. She'll have to live with the mares but she's going to have to ride with the geldings so I hope it works out.

Aww...give them some time. My geldings hate any new horse for a day or two, but they quickly accept them.

They'll probably settle down soon. We had a new arrival at the barn 3 or 4 weeks ago and the horses were all in an uproar, especially my gelding. Now he hangs over the fence and talks to the baby girl! Goofball!
