I encourage everyone to check it out. I volunteer one class a week (1 1/2 hour to 2 hour/week commitment depending on whether I'm leading or sidewalking) and also help out with special events and serve on the Board. Love the folks involved and the riders are awesome. This session there will be 36 riders - we started with 17 2 summers ago. Tell your friends/neighbors/coworkers/classmates! Each rider needs 1-3 volunteers to assist, and without them the program can't happen. Hope to see you there!

I might be interested in helping out. My company, Horizon Air/Alaska Air has a program where they pay the organization $10 PER HOUR for me to volunteer out. Pretty cool program, I'm going to look into it and then maybe get in touch w/ you Patti

Be great to have you along! For some people we have done an informal training if you don't want to wait for the next official one. Just keep me posted.

Hey there! I spoke to Sandy and Andrea at Free Rein, and they are both going to be at the NARHA conference that weekend. I can be the stand-in representative, if you would like me to. I can bring a slide show on the laptop if the members would like to see one - what would you like? Thanks again for thinking of our program.

Excellent. I talked to Sandy last night, and I can bring a slideshow and volunteer information. Anything else?

:DOh yes, we have daytime sessions. Right now we have Weds and Friday during the day, and we are always looking for volunteers who are available during the day! Please look on www.freereinspokane.org - there's contact information on there and volunteer information. I can also arrange to give a tour to anyone who's interested, and I can talk to Sandy about a tour of the facility during the daytime if that's what works best for most people. You guys are awesome! ;D

That's great! I'm helping at the volunteer trainings in June, if you end up doing those. I'm usually one of the horse handlers. Some of the volunteers have never groomed or saddled a horse, so we go through all of that. You might check with Sandy about coming out before that for informal training, if you want to get started. Great to have you aboard! ;D

I'll check with Sandy, the director. Sometimes she has done volunteer training at a different time. We'll get something figured out for you!

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all of you who contributed to the fund for MDH. We received the lovely check toward our program last week and it is greatly appreciated. Also, a great big HUGE thank you to those who are willing to volunteer their time. It makes all the difference to have knowledgable volunteers.

;D I'll be there Tuesday nights, so we won't see each other, but I think you may see one of my favorite riders Caitlyn. She's riding daytime in the summer. She does so great - what a difference in 2 years of lessons! so happy to be riding and almost independent now. Bummer I won't be leading her this session, and she may not need a leader after this session!!!
