Trot about Riding School over by Greenbluff, did one last year, it's ran by Cristy Pemberton. My daughter did it last year and had a great time. She does mostly english though, and I haven't heard if she is doing it this year or not. I'll let you know when I hear I'll post it on the activity page.

That would be fun, Katie. Although I think some of the charm of camp for girls is getting away from their parents for a bit.
Joan Haney at Farwest Farms used to put on a good one. Alexa went to that in the summer of 2004. But she's not doing those any more.
One of the fun things that she did during the week was to have the girls practice a little routine to music. It was surprising how well all the girls did at that. They got to bring their own CD and pick a song and then just practice walk, trot, or canter in tempo with the music, doing figure 8's or circles or whatever in a little routine. It was fun to watch what they all came up with! There were a lot of songs from the soundtrack of the Spirit movie. Alexa's was to Five For Fighting's 100 years -- It was really beautiful.

That is very true about kids wanting to get away from their parents.....and its probably the same way for the parents sending their kids away.
I did a day camp a long time ago when Trail Town Riding Stables was still there- we didn't get to bring our own horses though but it was still fun. We got to go down to the river and wade in it. Then of course I did South Horse Camp with 4-H- that was a blast, I did that one a few times.

I was a teen councelor with a 4H horse camp, it was a weekend thing.
I think kids do better without their parents, they listen better and are more open to learning different things.

You know what you could do...go meet with Regina and put together a three day camp or something--figure out the age group and limit per group--and see if she'd come up with a price and maybe organize it. I would love for Shiloh to do something like that, too, but she'd only be able to commit to a few days.
