Well, since I'm at my current pet limit. I'm allowed to "claim" the wild animals as mine too. Behind our house, not too far was a nest with a big owl. About a month ago, you looked in the nest and saw nothing but grey fluff. And now, one of the little guys is really gotten to be a big guy and he's out on the branch checking us out. Sooooooo.... cute!

Oh, cute! What a great picture!
We hear owls all the time in the trees in our property, but I've only ever seen one once - when it swooped down almost on top of me when I was riding Myth through the trees!
Yes, I claim the quail and the turkeys as "mine" too! It must run in the family -- my grandmother in Palm Desert, CA, had wild roadrunners that would come up to her doorstep for scraps of meat every morning!

Nice shot. I like the idea of adopting the wild ones, too. Don't have to feed or clean them!

That is an amazing photo! I want to ask a favor... under the tree, do you find owl pellets or have you ever looked? My daughter found it so fascinating to dissect an owl pellet we got at Farragut, I'd love to find some more for her. Let me know! Thanks.

Well, my son has been looking for owl pellets but we haven't found any yet.
