I love the forum... great idea... and many many thanks to whoever posted the Farragut Competitive Trail Challenge info. As the show manager for this ride I was excited to see it posted here. It's going to be a fun ride, camping, stalls, water are all available. This ride is leisurely paced ride (not timed or a race) for all levels of riding, easy enough for beginners and green horses and yet the obstacles are challenging enough for the advanced rider.

Thank You Joanne, glad your here to give us more info on it. And if you know of more rides, let us know. I'm all about trying to keep people busy with their horses.

Joanne, I'm not sure I'll be able to ride in this event, but am wondering about coming to watch or volunteer for the day. Is there a need? Sounds like a lot of fun!

There is always a need for volunteers... we could still use a judge!!

That's a bummer- I would much rather volunteer for this event than the Bloomsday number pickup!! Oh well maybe next time!

Joanne, I unblocked my e-mail so you can send me whatever information you think I need for volunteering. I'm an early riser, but I'm in Spokane, so I can probably be there early for check-in or whatever. Have you been in touch with a gal named Ari about volunteering? I think it's this event we were talking about at the tack swap! Anyway, just let me know what's up. Thanks.

I'm going to volunteer at this on Saturday - looks like fun! I'm not taking my horse, so if anyone wants to ride-share from Spokane, send me a private message! Thanks.

Looking forward to the trail challenge Saturday! Hope the weather cooperates! We were going to camp Friday night but sounds like the temps may be in the 30's...just a wee bit cool for this fair weather camper!

It was a rainy start to the day but ended up in sunshine; everyone in a good mood despite the variable weather. Glad I brought my rubber boots, pocket warmers and full-length slicker! Fun to see all the different horses (and a mule) at all different skill levels, the types of tack being used and the rider's styles. I didn't get to see the whole course but it looked like everyone had a good time. No drama, just laid-back fun. Yahoo!
