Thursday I was riding my little Arab, he's four. Normally he is so good. Well this day he decided he's going to test me and see how much he can get away with....little butt! Well anyways, he thought he'd b cute and try to run around the arena with his head above the bit... well needless to say with his head up in the air it threw him off balance, and he slipped going around the bend. No w his knee is blown up like a balloon. We hosed it down, gave him some bute and called the vet. The came and looked at him and said the swelling is actually in the joint and if the swelling doesn't go down in the next couple days we'll need to xray it. He might of actually chip the bone! I am so bummed! We have been doing so well with our lessons, and he was coming along so good. I was looking forward to doing some trail riding and maybe a schooling show or two with him. I pray this something simple and it heals up quick and easy. He's so young I would hate so see him go lame at this age! I know I'm probably over thinking it, but he's my baby I've raised him since he was 12 months old... Well thanks for listening.

The swelling has come down some. And he's playing on it and running around. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, since it's still swollen. The vet wrapped his legg and Solo wasn't to sure of what it was and kept tryin to back away from it, but it kept following him. It took him awhile to figure out it was attached. Then he proceded to chew on it, everytime our backs were turned. But the wrap made it through the night. The vet comes back tomorrow, and we'll see how he does. If the swelling doesn't go down then it's xray time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the swelling goes down and it'll be all better by the end of the week!
