Just curious of the general vicinties of where all the members live. I think it would be nice for members ( if they wanted) who lived close to be able to arrange for a meet and greet (coffee or drinks) to get to know fellow horselovers and make new friends and be able to put faces with online friends. Sometimes at shows it's so hetic and busy it's hard to really get a chance to really talk. And when I'm trying to remember a pattern, all else is lost from my mind, usually the name of someone I just met ;D

One of the ways we enjoy meeting local horsemen is to go trail riding with them for a few hours. It always seems to offer an excellent chance to get to know them and enjoy doing the thing you love at the same time. Soooo... if you want to go trail riding, just let us know. We are usually out every week on long trail rides. Weather permitting.

There is a group of us on the West side that meet up at Chaps (Hwy 195) for coffee, breakfast or lunch. We always talk about martinis but we haven't managed to plan that one.

I been dying to get out and trail ride, but so far the weather hasn't cooperated with my free time, so I've been stuck arena riding ! I would love to meet up and ride with you all!

Paula What days can you ride or do coffee? Usually I know everyones schedules change? Maybe plan a coffee or a ride soon if this weather cooperates.

Yeah, it would be very nice if the weather did cooperate!! This is the wettest May I remember--EVER. (Good for the grass, I guess). I think it will be time for a Chaps day soon.

That's a cool survey--just saw it. Looks like everyone lives in the North! No surprise there--that's horse country!

Weekends are best for me. I'm a weekday working stiff! And a mother of three, so I have to try and steal time every chance I get. If this weather ever clears I am all for a ride! I've been tempted to buy water wings for my horses ! LOL I don't mind riding in the evenings on weekdays too. I think its great to see where everyone is located. We should do a poll about peoples favorite places to ride too! I don't know all the local areas though so someone else would have to come up with that. I'll keep praying for dry weather and BTW I make great Martinis!

There wasn't an answer on the poll that fits where I live -- I live on Four Mound Prairie - up Seven Mile Rd.

OOPS I new I would forget somewhere, my husband pointed out that I forgot Nine Mile as well, after the poll was all done, and I couldn't figure out how to go back and add it. I dont' think you can. Sorry to those I missed As for my kids, they range ages 9 to 14, my daughter likes to ride and my oldest son like to ride, but my middle son, he's not really in to it, he'll ride if I ask but he can life with or without it. At this time we only have one horse that is kid safe for riding, the other is too young and in training, but I'm hoping to take him on some trails this year and get him use to it.

Hi,,,,,,, I'm new to this board. I'm south of Cd'A. Is there anyone that is in the Highway 41 area north of Spirit Lake? Do any of you ride on the Forest Service trails near 41 or south of Athol on USFS lands? The USFS has a plan to do away with those parcels and turn them into housing developments... I've heard that people trail ride in these areas.

I live out here in between Athol and Spirit Lake but have only ridden at Farragut but would love to find other places to go - I am just a chicken to go by myself to places I have never been.

No worries, there are a lot of us around that love to ride with others, so if you want to ride, just look in the 'who wants to ride' forum, and either post a date and place, or look to join a ride there. If you propose a ride, you might get some takers too. We got 8 riders to Riverside on Sunday, and it was an AWESOME BLAST!!!

Soon as I get a horse trailer, I'll be joining you all for a ride. I REALLY would like to have some friends that share in my interest of horseback riding.

In Chattaroy area here. It is actually a short drive to some "foothills" (not sure what they really are called) from my house. I guess I'm closer to Mt. Kit Carson. Have not had time to explore them, nor knowledge of the trails and where they lead etc.
