We’ll be doing a groundwork and round-penning mini clinic tomorrow, Wednesday, June 30 at 6pm. Everyone is welcome (free). We’ll do various round-penning exercises with multiple horses. Lounging at liberty, lounging for respect and control, basic groundwork exercises, lounging on a line, groundwork 'games' to play with your horse in the roundpen, and some demonstrations of more advanced groundwork. If anyone is interested, we could also do a demonstration of how to do your own hoof trimming with a grinder, including how to desensitize your horse to the electric angle grinder. Location: Near Green Bluff in Mead. Map: bit.ly/creCBZ

hmm.... David, I'm going to have to see if I can get this into my plan for tomorrow. I work and I'm hoping to get my son home from the airport, but if it works out... count me in!

How wonderful of you, David! Your whole family is so cool.
Alexa and I are going to try to be there. I have my older daughter coming in from Portland, though, and I don't know what time she's due in. If she's at my house when I get home, I might not be able to make it.

Thanks for doing this for us, Lewis Family. I had a great time and learned some great tips for playing with my geldings in the round pen. Sorry we had to leave early, 4am shifts just come too soon.
Also, I'm sorry that I didn't get to introduce myself to anyone from the board that I don't already know. We showed up late and left early and I didn't want to interrupt the learning.
Good to see you all!

Thanks Lisa!! - Sorry we didn't have time to get to the hoof trimming demo. Next time though. It was great to see you all there! We had about 10 people show up, which was really good considering the really short notice. We’ll do it again soon. I’m hoping the next one will be either a hands-on clinic, or we’ll have some people bring their colts so we can do some demonstrations on some really green horses. Including starting under saddle.

Yes, thank you so much, Lewis family! I really have hope for my little Arab gelding now!
Looking forward to more clinics, and especially seeing the grinder used on hooves.
