I finally got to ride after 3 months of recuperating from foot surgery!! ;D
Alexa and I and a friend and her husband rode in Riverside yesterday for about 2 hours. It was damp and cold and foggy -- but it was so good to be on a horse! I really needed that. It was sort of cool riding in the fog - the woods were sort of eerie and quiet.
My good old (well, young) QH Danny was awesome -- no tune up at all after being a pasture pet for 3 months. I just got on and he was his usual good self. Even with me climbing off awkwardly, trying to land on my good foot instead of the surgical foot, and turning the saddle sideways in the process -- he just sorta turned and looked at me as if to say, "Are you okay?"
We came home and had hot chocolate and huddled under blankets for the rest of the day!

Ahh... cold weather riding is not that bad when you end the day with chocolate. I'm ending mine with a $1.00 Mocha from Giddy Up N Go in Airway Heights.

So glad you were finally able to ride again! I bet it was a neat experience in the fog.
