I'm curious as to who all uses barefoot trimmers, and who would you recommend?

I have been using a barefoot trimmer for about 3 years now. I use a lady in Clayton name Barb Taylor. she is great.

I think it will depend on where you live in and how many horses you have. if she does not want to take on any more, she might be able to refer you. Her email is BT@natureshoof.com and website is www.natureshoof.com I had leased my old arab to some people and everything went fine till the daughter got a younger horse. when I went to bring Ruben home I would say his shoes had been on 6 - 8 months. the bones in his feet had all shifted forward. Barb came out every 3 - 4 weeks and worked on him and kept moving things back but not to fast to make him sore. she was so careful with him. It took 2 years for everything to stabilize and now his feet are beautiful and he does not grow a lot of toe between trims. I have my horses done every 6 - 7 weeks and use boots most of the time when I ride. Susan

I do my own trimming. I'm happy to show you some tips on doing it yourself.

Maybe once we get my mare back in balance I might be able to learn to do some of it myself!

My sister and I were just talking about learning how to do our own trims. But we have not been able to find any clinics to learn how. We currently use Tony Hamilton here in the Deer Park area. He is great.. but with 5 horses it gets kinda spendy to have him out every other month.
