Anyone else hear of this? www.cowgirlcoop.com/I will be headed out this Saturday to do some riding, access to a trail course and some instruction. Only $25 for the whole day and that includes a lunch. Here are some details and I think this is what I'm going to? I'm not 100% sure but it sounds like fun! www.cowgirlcoop.com/Contact-us.html

Wow--it sounds like a lot of fun. Saturdays are bad for me now though because they're Mike's only day off. Otherwise, I'd be tempted to do it, too.

This is right up my alley! Horses, art and flea market all in one??? Tomorrow is my last ski day of the season, so it doesn't work for me either, but give us all the scoop when you get back. Sounds like a blast!

Have fun today--I'm looking forward to your update on how it went.
We're going to fence in all the pastures today and make poles--I got the cans and the PVC for it. A work day! Mike's one day off.

Oh it was a great time. There was six of us total, including Shannon (the instructor). There was lots of obstacles to work with. Bridges, Teeter Totter Bridge, "Carwash", tent, umbrella, goats, YAKS... lots of things. Then we went on a trail ride afterwards. One of the things I wanted Shannon to watch was Muffin going down hills. He's just not that stable and it is a bit scary. She watched and suggested that I bring his head up higher, helping put his weight towards his haunches. It helped a lot. Then we all went on a 1 hour trail ride up and down big hills. It was awesome and the view was spectacular.
Oh... and they served homemade (from scratch) chicken noodle soup with fresh, warm bisquits. And the chicken was also homegrown.
Really, really cool day. Met some friends that I hope to pair up with in the future. I recommend it to anyone that is interested in getting their horse over spooky stuff.

That sounds like so much fun! And how great that it helped you work out Muffin's hill trouble.
How did Muffin do with all the scary stuff?

Muffin was a champ! He was very scared of the carwash deal, but Shannon really helped with exposing him to that. We tied it up completely so it didn't touch him at first. Then we dropped just one side down and worked him with that. Then dropped it all the way. It took time, it brushes over him and makes noise. But it was good. I think it helped because afterwards our trail ride involved lots of busting trail through brush and he got lots of tickles from the sticks. He didn't like it, but he dealt with it. Attachments:

Sounds like a lot of fun! We have ridden through spraying water under the irrigation pivots here... horses took it really well.

I'd be HAPPY to go first---IF I'm riding Red! lol. Otherwise, it might be a rodeo. Who knows though--horses always surprise you--not scared of what you think they'd be scared of and petrified of something small.

Your right about that. Muffin passed and checked out the pigs several times yesterday but at the end of the day we rode passed them and he jumped a mile. OMG... pigs! Good thing, a lifetime with Arabians has given me a good seat and to know that horses jump at anything.

It really sounds awesome. My horse is pretty steady on the trails, but that carwash thingy might send him skyward. We got a couple of sheep out on the ranch last fall and he wigged out about them initially so pigs might do it too! Doesn't mind cows or deer out on a trail though. I'll watch the Cowgirls website too. They hadn't updated it to say they were starting these clinics/playday whatever you want to call them.
