ACK!!!! So, for people that don't know me. I work for an airline and have for 10 years now. The pay stinks but the benefits are great. Anyway, my son is 13 now. So, he's old enough to travel on his own without an escort, based on the Airline's rules. (They let the parents be the judge). So, anyway we have been in and out and around SeaTac Airport for 10 of my son's 13 years of life! He said he was ready to fly over and visit Grandma and he knew how to find her. So, we organized a central meeting place and well.... you guessed it. He got lost! Bad thing is. I'm in Spokane AND at work! My nerves were through the roof. I was calling all the favors I had out there, nothing was working we still couldn't find him. I wanted my mom to stay in the spot where she was to meet him so he if he figured it out, he wouldn't get more lost! After an hour, I called the POLICE. They did some pages overhead and sent an officer out to find him. And during that, he realized he was waiting at the wrong Starbucks and then found my mom. OMG.... I didn't want to get him a cell phone, but I guess if we try this again, we are going to have to get a pay as you go phone. I was so freaked. He's my only child.

That's HORRIBLE--more for you than him, of course. It sounds like he knew where he was. We are spoiled by cell phones, aren't we??? What did we do before them? I call my kids ALL the time and the rule for them having a cell phone paid by us is they HAVE to pick up no matter what. I just worry about them driving and talking/texting.

Is he going to be in Seattle for the whole spring break?

Only for a few days. He wanted to get away and see Grandma. I am going to fly over tonight and we all might drive out to the beach for a day (Ocean Shores/Westport area). We will come back on Wednesday night.

Nice. That's the great perk about working for the airlines! I love to travel, but I hate to leave the horses--especially in Spring.

Yikes! That's heart attack material for sure!
Alexa has traveled alone to Portland to visit her sisters when she was 13-14. I did give her my cell phone to use, but I was nervous the whole time until I got the call that she had found my oldest daughter and all was well. I can't imagine getting a call saying that she couldn't be found! Holy frijoles!
Glad it all turned out well.

OMG I would have gone crazy. I'm glad everything turned out good. I just came from Ocean Shores it is really cold and windy you may not want to go. They canceled all the fish trips for the week too. But it s clam season so thats nice. Have a great break.
