I almost forgot to post this! Our mustang club is getting together for a ride this coming Saturday at the Trail Town trail head. ALL BREEDS are welcome. We'll be in the saddle at 10AM and probably ride for 3-4 hours, with a lunch break somewhere along the trail (bring your own lunch). There are usually about 10 of us, one fast group and one slow group. It would be great if some of you could join us!

I've never found directions online - kind of flew by the seat of my pants the first time I went there. I've been there a couple times now and this is what I came up with and sent out to our club. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Directions to the ride at the Trail Town trail head: From I-90 take exit 280A (Maple street exit)–Go north. Get into the left lane and turn left at 2nd. Second will turn into Sunset blvd and you’ll cross a bridge. Turn right on Government Way. Go past the cemetery, past Spokane Falls Community College (you’ll start seeing signs directing you to the equestrian area). Follow the signs to the equestrian area. You’ll turn right at Aubrey L. White Dr, and then right into the equestrian area. Continue past the first stop (where you’ll see a toilet and a handicapped mounting platform) to the end of the road where there is another toilet and parking area. Coming from the south on 195: Just before you come to I-90 you turn left onto Lindeke St. Follow Lindeke as it curves right (toward the north). You’ll come to a 4 way stop. Go straight through. Now you’re on Government way. Continue on Government way past the cemetery, past Spokane Falls Community College (you’ll start seeing signs directing you to the equestrian area). Follow the signs to the equestrian area. You’ll turn right at Aubrey L. White Dr, and then right into the equestrian area. Continue past the first stop (where you’ll see a toilet and a handicapped mounting platform) to the end of the road where there is another toilet and parking area.

Shoot -- I probably won't be able to go. I promised my daughter-in-law that I would bring a pony to her little brother's birthday party that day.

Katie - that's great!
Laura - bummer, I wish you could come.
There may be some confusion to anyone new to the group who comes. The Search and Rescue group is riding out of that trail head as well, so just look for someone from the Mustang club. You can recognize our horses by the brands on their necks. Although on my horses they aren't real visible this time of year... I'll be in a dark grey Ford pickup with a light grey trailer and two red geldings. (one sorrel and one red dun)

It looks like it will be good weather. If I have no family plans, I may join you too.

We had a wonderful ride yesterday. There were only 6 of us but it's kinda nice to not have a huge group. Here's John on Cisco , a Civil War guy we ran into, Bea on Cody, and Lea on Pepper. And here's another Civil War guy, Bob on Raven, Mary on Black Velvet, John on Cisco, and the first Civil War guy again. Their group was sure having fun firing off their big guns. I kinda liked this picture of Tonka shadowed in the trees at lunch time. He has a kinda grumpy look on his face though. There were little bugs irritating him. This is our first mustang club ride where everyone was on mustangs. Isn't Black Velvet beautiful? She's from the Coyote Lakes herd, same as my horse, but doesn't look a thing like Tonka. She has a gorgeous head, pretty arched neck, and a huge beautiful behind. Everything about her is more filled out than any of the Coyote lakes horses I'm familiar with. But I wouldn't trade my Tonka for anything, even if he is a rawboned big goof.

Great pictures, Andrea! It was great weather, wasn't it? Hopefully we can all get together again sometime soon for another ride (when I don't have to do a pony party, LOL!).

I wish you all could have been there! It was fun and the weather was like it was made just for us. We'll have plenty of other chances to get together and ride, but I wish I lived closer to Spokane. That's a bit of a drive.

Looks like a great time. I rode, but just off our property. I'm working on that trailer issue though! Hope to be joining you soon.
